Baan Saraiva’s, Lisbon’s best Thai restaurant by a pretty wide margin, is prepping a mouth-watering Xmas menu for 38 Euros. Personally, I’d go for the Fresh Spring Roll with Shrimps, the Tom Yum Seafood, and the Red Curry Duck, but the choice is yours! If you haven’t taken my advice and checked out this restaurant yet, I highly recommend using this festive season to cash in on the deal. You really can’t go wrong with the menu here.
A Tabanca - Petiscos Indianos
A Tabanca just dropped their Christmas menu. Here it is:
Nali Nihari: a slow-cooked, flavorful stew featuring tender lamb shanks. Traditionally savored in the mountains of northern India, we've chosen this dish for its heartwarming qualities that resonate perfectly with the Christmas theme. Share the joy of the holidays with family and friends as you indulge in this rich and aromatic stew, served alongside a side of warm bread.
Pani Puri: an iconic Indian street food sensation, these bite-sized, hollow puris are filled with a concoction of tamarind water, mint, spices, and a burst of flavors.
Koobideh Kebab Pockets:— handmade Iranian meatballs crafted from spiced lamb. Encased in a soft roti wrap with pickled onions and coriander sauce.
Lubio Pulao: a fragrant rice dish with green beans, soya mince, and Iranian Zereshk berries.
Cucumber Mint Raita : Finely chopped cucumbers and fresh mint leaves blended into a velvety yogurt base. Its crisp and soothing flavors perfectly complement the rich and aromatic dishes on our Christmas menu.

My Favorite Discovery of Last Week!
Since some of you probably don’t watch every single video I upload and would like more specific guided recommendations, I want to use this newsletter to spotlight my favorite recent discoveries.
I’ve recently noticed that burger reviews not only perform very well on my Instagram, but seem to have the most polarized audience. I’m not sure if that speaks to the hardcore burger fandom that follows me, or the fact that everybody has a completely different idea of what constitutes a great burger. Whatever the case may be, I found A-100 to be a top-shelf burger joint. Sure, a quick look at the comments will show you that some people disagree with me on this, but I think everyone should make up their own opinion. For what it’s worth, I thought it was delicious!
ImmigrantFilm’s movie of the week:
Since I’m a heavyweight cinephile, here’s my favorite film I watched last week.
Bradley Cooper is back in the director’s chair after his first attempt, A Star is Born, landed him serious Oscar buzz. This time he’s doing non-fiction music film; Maestro, the biography of Leonard Bernstein, produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese (the latter of which has wanted to direct a Bernstein film for decades now). Cooper shines in the lead role, and directs the film with the same type of musical verve you’d otherwise only find in Bob Fosse’s classic, All That Jazz. Matthew Libatique’s camerawork is among the best of the year. The film is on Netflix now, and playing at the amazing Cinema Nimas theatre in Saldanha!

Looking for free alcohol before and after meals?
I recently started using Secret Tab (iPhone / Android) to cash in on two free drinks before going to my dinner rezys. I’ve found the app to be super convenient, and I like that it just picks my destination for me so I don’t always end up at the same bar. It’s also a cool social tool since it attracts a crowd of users to one joint every night!
